Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSoCarnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from Pancreatic Cancer, gave "his last lecture" at the university on September 18 2007, before a packed McConomy auditorium.
I learned about him from one of Oprah's, many segments on TV, and i had to go and check out the whole "lecture". It was very inspirational and moving. He has three small kids. He only has months to live...not sure if he still is alive..... Some of the things he said that will be embedded in my mind forever...
" Live properly, and things will come to you!" " Be generous and apologize sincerely"..... " The biggest regrets are the things that you don't do"... " Be patient, and you will see, the good side of people"..
With regards to bringing up children he says, " ignore what they say, but pay close attention to what they do"...."let them paint their room".....
